Cowboy Entertainers Information

Doug Figgs

Doug Figgs is a horseshoer, a day working cowboy, and a Western music singer/songwriter. In more than thirty years of shoeing horses he has earned the title of “Certified Journeyman Farrier”, the highest level attainable through the American Farrier’s Association. In the last few years he has turned his attention to his love of music with the emphasis on Western themes. He has toured the Southwest extensively and continues to turn out his own variety of Western music, from hard driving songs with a tinge of southern rock, to beautiful ballads and everything in between.

Daron Little

Daron Little cowboys for a living on the TA Ranch north of Saratoga Wyoming. He also plays cowboy music that he writes from his experiences living the day to day life and he was named 2009 Top Male Vocalist in the Western category by the Academy of Western Artists. He and his music have received other honors, but Daron mainly just loves what he does and does what he loves, both on the ranch and when he's making music. Daron lives in a house full of women with his wife and three daughters, which is probably poetic justice. He names his musical influences as Gail Steiger, Mike Beck, Guy Clark, and a LOT of Southern Rock Bands. Who says all cowboy songs sound the same?

Terry Nash

Terry Nash is one of the most sought-out poets around, due to his creative ability to put words together and deliver them in a captivating way.

A beef producer from Loma, Colorado, Terry knows what he's talking about and he knows how to draw you into his stories. His tales are of the West not seen from an interstate or from the bleachers at a rodeo. He lives the life he writes about, and he's a master at showing it to you. And he’ll sell you a darn good mountain-raised steak!

He has been a top-five finalist for the International Western Music Association award for Male Poet of the Year for seven consecutive years, and in 2018, won the award for Male Poet of the Year, plus CD of the year for his latest, “A Good Ride.”

Terry performs in gatherings from Alpine to Elko, and all points between. He does private performances and banquet speaking and loves to emcee any event.

Claudia Nygaard

Claudia is a quick witted and charismatic performer, with a twinkle in her eye that convinces everyone in her audience that she is sharing a secret with them alone. And her storytelling doesn’t end when the song does. Sharing both the inspiration behind the tunes, and also frequently creating outlandish, irreverent, and humorous monologues, her patter is as important a part of her performances as the songs themselves.

Caitlyn Taussig

Caitlyn Taussig is a fourth-generation rancher from Kremmling, Colorado. She runs cow-calf pairs with her mother on their high-country cattle ranch. Caitlyn’s interests include travel, cattle care, learning to be a better roper, and studying up on bridle horses in the Californio tradition.

Caitlyn has been singing since childhood and has performed at ranch brandings, cowboy gatherings, private events, guest ranches, bars and ranch ropings. She draws inspiration for her songwriting from Colorado's rugged and beautiful landscapes, her experiences summering cattle at 9,000 feet, cowboying in rough high country and dark timber, working on the family ranch and feeding cattle in the harsh winter months, and listening to her late father’s wild stories. An article about the Taussig family appeared in the February 2016 issue of Western Horseman, and in January 2019 Caitlyn and her mother Vicki were featured in the front page NY Times Sunday business section story "Female Ranchers are Reclaiming the American West".
