Trappers Lake Lodge does not manage the Trappers Lake campgrounds. The campgrounds are run by the concession White River Recreation. Please go to http://www.recreation.gov to make reservations. Not all campsites are by reservation. If you are unable to locate information on Trappers Lake campgrounds online, please call the Forest Service in Meeker at 970-878-4039.
For your information: There are numerous campsites for your selection at the Trappers Lake Campgrounds; Trapline, Bucks, Sheppard’s Rim, Cutthroat. Campgrounds have water and toilets. Sheppard’s Rim has limited pull throughs for RV’s. Horsethief has facilities for horse trailers for those who wish to stay with their horses.
Himes Peak campground is located 4 miles southeast of Trappers Lake Lodge directly off Trappers Lake Road. You will pass it on the way up to the lodge. Himes Peak campground does not have water.
Sorry camping is not permitted within ¼ mile of Trappers Lake. The lake sits within Wilderness boundaries where camping next to a water source is not permitted.
