Welcome to Trappers Lake Lodge & Resort, where the wilderness preservation movement began in 1919, culminating in 1964 with this nation's bold and first of its kind “Wilderness Protection Act." We are located amidst 240,000 acres of wide open beauty where guests can enjoy the remote peace and quiet of National Forest and Wilderness space. Yes, you can actually sit in total isolation enjoying the solitude and breathtaking scenery. There’s nothing like it! Simply walk out of your cabin and in just a few minutes you will be gazing at Colorado’s second to largest natural lake or head off for a day on one of the many hiking trails. The splendor and peace of the wilderness is before you!
Trappers Lake Lodge & Resort is known for being rustic and remote. Our resort features quaint log cabin accommodations with a full service restaurant and bar. Come in and enjoy a delicious Trappers mountain meal in our wonderful lodge or enjoy the view from the deck. Everything you need or want is on-site: horses, boats, canoes, general store, laundry facilities, bath house, restaurant and full bar. Relax in a rustic cabin or "rough it" in a tent at one of our wilderness campsites accessible by foot or on horseback. At 9,600 feet the air is crisp and clean, the skies are crystal blue and the stars are so bright they light up the heavens. At night the Milky Way and falling stars will appear over the mountains adding to the spectacular scenery of Trappers Lake as you enjoy the campfire next to your cabin.
